Within the Veneto region, Val d Oten<\/strong> is one of the Dolomites\u2019 most beautiful yet lesser-known valleys. It stretches north from the town of Calalzo di Cadore<\/a>, and sits right at the foot of Antelao<\/a>, often called \u201cthe King of the Dolomites.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this guide, we\u2019ll explore this valley’s breathtaking mountain landscapes, top hiking routes, outdoor adventures, and panoramic viewpoints of Antelao dalla Val d\u2019oten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Val d\u2019Oten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Located in the province of Belluno<\/a>, Val d Oten<\/strong> is a glacial valley that divides the Marmarole mountain<\/strong> chain from Monte Antelao<\/strong>. The valley is located at around 900 metres, surrounded by cliffs, alpine meadows, and dense pine forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike more commercial Dolomite destinations such as Cortina d\u2019Ampezzo<\/a> or Misurina<\/strong>, Val d Oten<\/strong> is lesser known by tourists. In our opinion, it’s the best place for travelling to discover raw nature and scenic hikes<\/a> away from the crowds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
